Book cloth and fabric book covers in colors & textures

Book cloth or fabric book covers come in even a wider variety of colors and textures than what you see here. We have some patterns too. Does your printer?
Book cloth choices are very limited at print on-demand services as compared to Star Print Brokers offerings for fabric book covers. You can have just black or red much of the time at a POD service. But, what if you could have blue, pink, yellow, tan, green, or orange? Do you want cotton cloth, or perhaps a linen on a hardcover book?
What do you envision? What if there were even more book cloth colors and they came in a choice of weaves and textures? There are more choices! We even have some patterns too.
On-demand services usually offer only black or red book cloth for hardcover fabric book covers. What if you could have more choices? You can, with Star Print Brokers.
Self-publish with our hard-to-find options.
Book cloth and fabric book covers.
Our book cloth comes in a variety of colors and textures. Cloth can be linen or cotton. Materials can be a relatively smooth weave, or more on the nubby side. We have more choices than you see in the images above.
Genuine leather.
We also have genuine leather in addition to the standard bonded leather. Leather comes in different colors, but mostly natural colors. Genuine leather is the hide and is not in use often in use for book cover wrap, as it is more costly.
Bonded leather.
Bonded leather is the more affordable option and in wide use. It is all real leather and smells like leather, because it is an affordable alternative. Leather pieces will combine and press together, in other words, they bond. An imprint of a leather-look and color adds to this cost-saving substitution. Most of what you see in the marketplace is this king of leather.
Faux cover wrap materials and vegan leather.
Faux materials mimic the look of leather, linen, or book cloth. For instance, if you want a leather grain book, but want it in a bright color, we do have leather-looks in a few colors and textures. You can get vegan leather. Because we have so many choices, it is best to start with an idea of what you want, so we can then show you some choices.
Print better books.
Everything we do is custom, right down to manufacturing fabric book covers, meaning book cloth covering material for your title. Our possibilities are not endless, but the range of choices is much wider than at any print on-demand service or printer. We’ve been in this business since 1999, so we know where to get the best of everything for self-publishing authors.
First of all, we print books on press, not on-demand. And everything we do is high-quality — from the book cloth or other cover wrap material — to the printing, binding, and even hard-to-find custom options.
Print on press.
It’s not just about book cloth choices though. It’s about printing on press with top quality ink, not copying to paper with toner.
We print on very large sheets, on the front and back, simultaneously. Then the sheets fold, several times, to form what resembles a booklet. But, it is now a signature.
A book is made up of signatures that are bound together to form the book text block. Then the book is placed in a case, if it is a hardcover book. The case boards are thick, and the cover wrap or book cloth applies to the boards. Most often, the cover wrap can be something we print similar to the dust jacket, a book cloth, another faux material, or even leather.
If it is a soft cover book, the cover that we print, then affixes to the text block. No book cloth is in use on a soft cover book.
About book packagers and print on-demand services.
A book packager is offering a range of services, but ultimately, uses a print on-demand service to print your book. Get a quote from us before you go down this road.
Print on-demand services most often “print” a few books at a time. But, it’s not really printing. it’s outputting with toner, not ink, on single sheets of paper. This is done on an output device similar to a desktop printer or copier. It is not done on a printing press.
When on-demand services do offer short-run printing on printing presses, it is not anywhere near the quality that we provide.
You can do this alone, and have better results. Better yet, work with us! Authors make more profit with Star Print Brokers books which are beautifully printed and bound. They charge more for our books, as they are top-quality. What is you changed a dollar more per copy, or $5, or $10. How much more profit is that for your title?
A word of caution. Avoid pricing yourself out of the market, but make sure you are charging enough for your book. See similar books with a recent copyright or printing date. We would be happy to discuss this in more detail with you. It’s part of our personal book self-publishing services.
Distribution.
If you use an on-demand service, do you actually get your book into brick-and-mortar bookstores, or just have access to those bookstores? We have a secret for you. If you have your own ISBN and bar code, you already have access to brick-and-mortar bookstores. You are in the database already.
All of our books are professionally printed and bound properly. There is an immense difference between printers, fabric book covers and the book cloth that we use. We only use the best! Self-publishers pay no more for our printing and binding services, and can save us to 70 percent over other printing options.
