We begin this journey in 1999, and now two decades later, we are still printing the finest of books. Our books do not print on-demand. That is not good enough. You see, we really care about top quality printing, binding, and beautiful accurate color. We care about options that are hard-to-find elsewhere. Minimum 1,000 hardcover, 2,000 soft cover, or 1,000 board books.
Our clients care too, which is why we are still printing books after all these years, and our clients coming back for multiple run print runs.
Incidentally, a lot of our self-publishers move over from other providers come to us from print on-demand suppliers, and printers in the USA where the unit cost is very high and the quality is not as anywhere near as nice. USA printers don’t typically add in delivery to the door. Instead they quote FOB. We most often quote DDP; always for USA delivery.

Many of the self-publishers we represent, print books economically in Asia with Star Print Brokers. We also print short-run books domestically, but we seldom print in the USA now because of cost ad quality concerns to self-publish.
It is challenging for many to be a high-quality book printing service for art and photography books, and offset book printing. Clients require great color reproduction. We deliver beautiful, “pleasing color” for all our books, so the files need to be properly set-up. SPB can also deliver excellent “exact match” color.

We can consult with you or your designer. Books are typically set-up in InDesign. Word can be used too, but most often for novels.

- Delivery to door: The books will deliver by truck to your door, DDP (Delivery Duty Paid.) Unless we say otherwise, this is also in your quote.

- Fixed-layout ebooks: The ebook conversion cost depends on the complexity and page count.

With our offset book printing services and book design services, we supply clients with project management, advice on printing, color, working with files, book construction, working with digital proofs and press proofs, customs, delivery, and more. Note: We promote China book printing in our search optimization keywords, but we never print in China. While China is a popular search term, we only use it to be found in searches. Shipping, customs and delivery.
- Shipping cartons are custom made for your books, not just a standard box size.
- We follow the shipping from the foreign port to your door.
- Shipping is as short as 9 to 11 days to port and a little longer to the East Coast. While ocean shipping adds time versus printing domestically, the trade-off is lower unit cost books. Our quality is wonderful!
- Star Print Brokers ships to US West Coast or East Coast ports, Europe, or almost anywhere in the world.
- SPB handles customs and all communications.
- All quotes are DDP. Shipping and duty are included in your quote unless stated otherwise.
- Books are insured to the door which is another benefit to SPB’s high quality book printing.
- After we print and bind all of the books, they are put into custom export cartons that have your carton markings. The cartons will load on pallets, and the pallet(s) have shrink wrap for further protection.
- The pallets will load into a container and will transfer transfer to ship.
- When the ship makes port, we clear customs and pay duty, unless we note otherwise in your quote. Depending on the final destination, the books will either go by rail and truck, or local truck delivery to your door.
Professional book design by a book designer.
Book design is another book printing services option. Nancy Starkman does most of the book design for clients who select this as an option. However, when there are many books in the queue, she does have a team to keep books on schedule. Nancy will still layout the basic design, have a team member execute it, and then she will oversee the design.

Fixed-layout ebooks.
Standard ebooks flow text and images from page to page. But, if you are printing a book with photos or illustrations, you probably want your ebook to appear just like the pages in your books. That is what a fixed-layout ebook does.
We offer fixed-layout ebook conversion, single ISBN and Barcode purchase, layout, scanning, and typesetting, image conversion to CMYK, and more.

Asia costs less than printing in USA or Canada. Star Print Brokers can print short-run books in USA, but seldom does any longer. Rather, we opt for minimum or large high-quality book printing runs in Asia. The quality is best with our select printers and the cost more reasonable. We have many resources in Asia.
