Color book printing for self-publishers.
Experience color book printing by the experts. All printing is not the same, nor are all printers. Self-publishers are not going to get the best color reproduction at print on-demand service providers. Book printers and manufacturers don’t always have the staff that knows the difference between good printing and great printing. Great printing includes color reproduction, the quality of paper, and binding materials. Also, with our company, we offer a wide selection of options for the finest in process color book printing.
How do we know our book printing is among the best?
We have decades of experience in premium book manufacturing. Unlike a typical company sales rep, we try to exceed all expectations for full color book printing.
We get praise all of the time!
Self-publishers rave about the number of problems with their files that we catch before printing. Remember, it’s not up to us to catch the mistakes of a self-publisher or book designer, but we do catch a lot of problems. Be aware that is it still the self-publisher’s responsibility. They sign-off accepting responsibility before printing, binding, and shipping.
Book samples that are sent to us by printers.
Because many book printers want to work with us, they send us samples. It is really sad when they send us what they believe to be their best books, only to find out that they don’t measure up to our quality. What is even sadder, it that these company representatives don’t know what great printing and binding looks like. One memorable book was printed in India. The design was great, but the paper stock was an unintended brown. It was the color of a coffee shop napkin. The printing was muddy. Even worse, this large format hardcover book with many pages had long binding strings showing. That is not the way we do things.
First printing that was done elsewhere.
Sometimes self-publishers send us their first run to either match or improve upon. We love it when our second printing is compared side-by-side. We are so proud of our work.
The self-publishers who don’t know best quality … yet.
We recently met a self-publisher at an event. The chef was signing books and giving them away as a promotion. I was trying to tell him about our company without seeming too pushy. He thought his book was pretty darn good. The color reproduction could be improved, unless the original photography was a problem. The hardcover boards were too thin. The paper stock was too thin. The cost per book was more than double what we would charge. Then, there is the book design. The general layout was sufficient, but we immediately saw that the designer was more of a desktop publisher. We hope he gives us a call for his next book, so we can share our samples and wow him with superior printing, binding and design, at a fraction of the cost he paid.
