Note: This is now an old post. Facebook now allows names instead of numbers in the FB address.

Easy to Read, Easy to Remember FB Address.
We see a lot of Facebook FB addresses that are long, have the word “pages” included, and numbers and dashes between words. They look rather, well, BAD! I had to hunt down the information on Facebook, and it took a bit of time to find the answer as it was hard to find. I found useful information, and seems to be a common problem, so here it is for all of you …
Facebook Fan Pages versus Personal Pages
First of all, Fan Pages are not personal pages. In my case, I have a personal page under my name. (All friend “likes” are welcome, at http://www.facebook.com/nancy.starkman). That personal page is for friends and family, but also for some of our clients who are also friends. Star Print Brokers has its own Fan Page. (Please “like” it … http://www.facebook.com/StarPrintBrokers) To get a Facebook Web Address like http://www.facebook.com/StarPrintBrokers, with numbers, dashes and the word “pages”, this is what you need to do.
- Create a Fan Page for your company, or a Fan Page for each of your book titles, or do BOTH … Fan Page for a publisher, and Fan Page(s) for your book(s). Be sure to “like” Star Print Brokers, so we can “like” you back. and link to your Facebook Fan Pages too.
- Pages must have 25 likes to be eligible for a Facebook Web Address.
- If you’re an admin of a Facebook Page, you’ll be able to choose your Facebook web address at http://www.facebook.com/username just like someone selecting a username for their profile (timeline). You can choose web addresses for each of the eligible Pages you manage.
I am in the USA, so I don’t know if your country code is included, but I think this information will get you started!
