Hardcover Printing – We print them (Does your printer?)

Hardcover printing for self-publisher’s books, since 1999.
Hardcover printing. Yes, we print hardcover books, in signature, sheet-fed on offset presses. Does your printer? Many print on-demand services do not print hardcover books. We print on press — custom books with real ink on paper — not toner that smears. Ink is safe for children.
Hardcover book printing is an art, not a production line in the way that on-demand services provide. Yes, we do print and bind multiple copies in one print run. But, we also provide so many options that self-publishers either cannot get elsewhere, or they can choose options that are just plain hard to find.
So, what is so special about our hardcover printing?
It’s quality hardcover printing for starters. Then, read through our options to see some of our many options …
We can do things like emboss dust jackets. Frequently, we are asked to use gold or silver foils. But, we can give you gold or silver in glossy or matte finishes! Want bronze foil stamping? We can do it. Want red, or blue, or purple, or how about green with a checkerboard, swirls, or speckles?
The cover wrap materials.
Focusing on the hardcovers themselves, we offer many different cover wraps materials. The cover wrap glues to the boards. It can be printed, use faux or genuine cotton and linen in a selection of colors. Try a faux leather, vegan leather, or even authentic, or a bonded leather. And, we even have suede and special woven cloths.
Stamping, foils, and colors.
On your cover wrap, we can blind stamp or foil emboss your title on the cover and the spine. The spine can have the same typeface as on the cover … not block letters. The foils come in different colors and even different textures!
Standard or French fold dust jackets.
You don’t have to have a dust jacket if you don’t want one. A dust jacket is the loose paper that folds over the book. Typically the two flaps will have “About the Author” text, and “About the Book/Illustrator/Artist,” etc.
You are likely familiar with the standard dust jacket, but you may ask, “What’s a French fold dust jacket?” It has an extra fold on top and bottom. This makes for very special photography books, or art books, especially if we print on a little heavier stock. The tactile feel of it truly makes a difference. It makes your books unique too.
Endpapers.
Get plain ends without any printing, print papers in process color or spot color, or print on one side or both sides. We are just the best at hardcover printing!
More options for hardcover printing …
Slip cases, tip-on stickers, tip-in vellum sheets, ribbon markers, bumper boxes, and so much more. We will write more about these options, and continue to ask the question … hardcover printing … can your printer do it?
Does hardcover printing sound expensive? It’s really not.
Also, consider how much more you can sell your books for when you have a few custom options. Are you designing your own book? Check out InDesign.
But, we are not about pressuring you to buy more options. We offer them, but that’s about it. It’s your choice. Even if you are printing a bare bones book, know that we don’t skimp on the quality of printing or the materials we use. Our standard papers are a cut above anyway.
Best of all, our hardcover printing is reasonably priced. Did you know that the approximate cost of 1,000 hardcover books is about the same as 2,000 soft cover books?
