Mead Tasting Book – “The Art of Mead Tasting and Food Pairing.”
A mead tasting book that is also a new significant cookbook. “The Art of Mead Tasting and Food Pairing” by Chrissie Manion Zaerpoor, is a short-list finalist in the Gourmand International Cookbook Awards, wine cookbooks. The book is also being considered at this writing, for a James Beard award.
This mead tasting book is very heavy on content and extremely informative about mead tasting and more. It is like the Wine Spectator for mead. Having said that, there are so many recipes, that we alternately refer to it as a cookbook, as well as a book.
It’s a beautiful full-color, hardcover book with 432 pages, 440 photographs, more than 60 food recipes and mead cocktail recipes. It has more than 60 sidebars about meaderies, meads, and meadmakers, plus distilled mead spirits, and mead vinegars, and a sidebar on mead and cheese pairings. It’s a mead tasting book for the beginner as well as those who are already consumers of mead and and use mead in recipes.
Printing and Book Design at Star Print Brokers
Nancy Starkman of Star Print Brokers is the designer of the book, and of course we did the printing too. The author brought a general concept of design to give us an idea of the premise and initial design elements. Our changes consist of the fonts and new stylesheets for different page set-ups. Nancy enjoys designing endpapers, and they were a special addition to the book. Another designer that Chrissie works with refined the cover. The preliminary layout was by Nancy Starkman.
