Self-publish basics
Self-Publishing Books
Making more profit publishng. So, where is the money?
There is a better way of self-publishing books.
Over the years, we’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. The job of self-publishing books is different for each situation. But, there is one thing we know for sure, and that is that the print on-demand model is not as profitable as many would lead you to believe.
We offer no sales guarantees, but experience tells us that most on-demand self-publishers can make more money using our methods.
Another question we often get is, “Do you offer distribution?” No, we do not, deliberately, and for good reason. We print high-quality books. Period.
The minimum print run at Star Print Brokers is 1,000 hardcover books, or 2,000 soft cover books. Most self-publishers print more. However, we have very few authors over the years that are left unsold books. Most of the time, authors are coming back to us for another print run. They often increase the quantity of printed books.
We’ll put you in touch with our clients – highly successful self-publishers.
Star Print Brokers has answers because we have successfully printed books for self-publishers since 1999. We’ve learned what works, and what doesn’t work. Most importantly, we’ll put you in touch with highly successful self-publishers. Ask them about Star Print Brokers.
Where is the money for authors who are self-publishing books?

Where self-publishing books can go wrong.
We know the names of the behemoth self-publishing platforms that drive authors through like herds of cattle. Open an author account. Then self-publish your book using print on-demand.
You don’t have to print many books, so the cost is low, right? They’ll distribute the books for you, right? Physical books in brick and mortar stores, right? Maybe the author is buying a package. Do you need your book proofread? How about a smashing cover design? What about marketing? How about doing your own distribution? What about ISBNs and barcodes, and then, who is the publisher? Are you paid only royalties? Do you need a website?
All of these POD or packaging add-ons cost money and minimize author’s profits … Especially when many authors get only a handful of books.
There are a lot of variables in self-publishing books, and there are absolutely some things that authors need to do. There are some other things that are either not necessary, or that can wait until a larger print run. How about authors who plan to go it alone? What will you do if you get a book that is poorly printed? The trick is knowing what to do, and who or what you can trust.
